Zdarma

The European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) is a Copernicus Service devoted to the monitoring of land deformation phenomena. It is based on the radar interferometry technique, which exploits data acquired by radar satellites. The EGMS covers all Europe (with some exceptions like Switzerland and a few Balkan countries) and the deformation phenomena from 2015. The data of such a Service are open and free for everybody, including the private companies.

The course will introduce the EGMS and will be held October 19, 9.00 – 12.30 at Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic Vršovická 1442/65, Praha 10, 100 10, room 900.

. The content of the course will include:

  • Introduction to radar interferometry,
  • Key properties of the deformation measurements from radar interferometry,
  • Main characteristics of the Service,
  • How to visualize the Service products,
  • How to download the Service products and import in a GIS software,
  • Discussion of case studies.

The course will be provided by CTTC (Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya), which is co-chair of the EGMS Advisory Board. The course will be in English and free of charge.
